Dr Frank Yang holds a PhD in Economics and currently serves as Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Commerce Association for General Merchandise (CCAGM).

With over 30 years of experience in China’s retail industry, Dr. Yang brings a rare combination of hands-on operational expertise and deep industry research. His career spans frontline management roles in supermarket and convenience store enterprises, as well as senior leadership positions in two of China’s most authoritative national retail industry associations, where he led systematic industry studies and policy research.

He has served both as a senior executive within retail enterprises and as a co-founder and manager of digital technology companies providing services to retailers, giving him a comprehensive perspective across the retail value chain. A practitioner and witness to China’s retail transformation, Dr. Yang has profound insight into the evolution and future trends of both domestic and global retail markets.

He has also participated as a visiting scholar in retail-focused executive programs at Michigan State University in the United States and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan.
