Kheoni began with a simple yet ambitious vision: to restore a forest and, in doing so, restore balance between people, livelihoods, and nature. What started as the planting of a forest in central India has today evolved into a biodiversity-awarded landscape—revived from scratch through sustained ecological effort and community participation. Along this journey, meaningful employment was created for local communities, forest fire risks were actively mitigated, and a once-degraded habitat was transformed into a thriving wildlife destination.
Today, Kheoni stands as a living example of what consistent, ground-up conservation can achieve. The presence of 11 magnificent tigers in the forest is not incidental—it is the outcome of years of protection, regeneration, and collective responsibility.
At the heart of this ecosystem are over 60 forest communities, whose livelihoods are deeply intertwined with conservation. These communities are not just beneficiaries, but creators—producing a range of first-of-its-kind products that reflect both innovation and environmental accountability. This includes the award-winning and world’s first carbon-negative body butter bar, probiotic amenities designed to clean the ocean as they are used, and packaging crafted from reclaimed wood and carbon-sequestering grass, all of which is fully compostable.
Kheoni represents a model where conservation drives commerce, and commerce, in turn, sustains conservation—creating a self-reinforcing system that benefits both people and the planet.
